Obstetric Labour and Delivery Bed   A labouring mom often needs to be in a certain position to safely deliver her baby and helping a mom maintain this can cause strain or injury to staff. This specialized bed helps to provide comfort and support to a mom during her labour, in a position that is safe for mom and staff.  As the only hospital in Huron County equipped with an Obstetrical Department, the AMGH is now able to have two properly equipped delivery rooms.

Defibrillators A defibrillator is a life-saving piece of emergency equipment used to treat and correct irregular heart rhythms that, if left untreated, could be fatal. A defibrillator delivers a therapeutic dose of electrical current to the heart which allows the heart to reestablish a normal heart rhythm. The AMGH has 6 defibrillators that are being replaced.

Vital Signs Monitors

Vital Signs monitors measure a patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, temperature and the amount of oxygen circulating in the bloodstream. This information is a basic measure of a patient’s condition and, in most cases, will alert the caregiver to changes in a patient's condition. Early response to changes is critical to avoiding serious complications. Automated monitors provide a consistent measure, while at the same time giving the nurse more time to focus on the patient.

Bladder Scanner
This is an ultrasonic method of checking to see if a patient has too much urine in their bladder or is not emptying their bladder completely. By using this equipment, nurses and doctors can make an informed decision as to whether further treatment is needed for a specific patient.
