Our vision for a brighter, more healing Mental Health Unit is becoming a reality. Here's how your incredible support is making it happen.
Because of your generosity, belief, and commitment, we are thrilled to announce that the final phase of our Mental Health Unit renovation is about to begin. This project — made possible through our community-driven capital campaign — is a true testament to what we can achieve together.
Pending the arrival of specialty materials, including custom glass for the new nurses’ station, we are targeting a construction start date around May 26th.
To ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and contractors, the project will roll out in three thoughtfully planned phases:
Phase One: Building a new nurses' station and medication room — the heart of the unit — expected to take 8–12 weeks, and temporarily impacting daily operations the most.
Phase Two: Creating a new staff washroom, a patient laundry room, a new entrance to the dining room, and a new patient kitchenette — making daily life more comfortable and supportive.
Phase Three: Putting the finishing touches on the patient dining room, replacing the solarium window, and refreshing the patient lounge/group room to create brighter, more welcoming spaces.
This renovation isn't just about new walls or windows — it’s about building hope, healing, and a stronger community. Thank you for making this dream a reality.
Every contribution makes a difference-together, we can build a healthier future for our community
